TUFLOW Tutorial Model
The TUFLOW Tutorial Model provides an excellent way for new users to learn how to develop and view TUFLOW models within the MapInfo/Vertical Mapper environment. It is designed to enable the user to develop a clear understanding of the key concepts and structure of TUFLOW models. The tutorials are intended for use as training media by experienced TUFLOW users to train inexperienced users. Use of the tutorial by inexperienced users is feasible, although some steps and concepts may be difficult. The complete model input files are provided allowing the user to cross-check and compare their files with those provided to help identify any problems. A TUFLOW licence is not required to run the tutorial models, but TUFLOW Build 2007-07-BD or later must be used.
This tutorial assumes that the user is familiar with MapInfo and Vertical Mapper. Tutorials in other software environments (eg. ArcGIS/Spatial Analyst; SMS TUFLOW Interface; XP-SWMM2D are planned for the future).
Version 003 of the TUFLOW Tutorial Model can be downloaded from the link below. It contains a number of corrections and additions to Version 001. Version 003 also includes the model input files for the as yet undocumented Module 06 on 2D-2D linking and Modelling of Urban Areas (experienced users wanting to apply the 2D-2D linking feature or seek some ideas on how to model urban environments may wish to view the Module 06 model).
Download and unzip the file, and follow the steps in the Tutorial Manual located in the "Manual" folder. And to fully benefit from the tutorial, please take your time! Constructive feedback is very welcome and should be emailed to support@tuflow.com.
