  1. We have locked in Perth training dates for early 2020. We will be offering a 2 day hands-on introductory training and our hugely popular 2019 release workshop and hands-on day.   2. We are pleased to announce that an update to the 2018-03 TUFLOW Release (Build 2018-03-AD) is now available. This update includes a range of changes for the TUFLOW-AD module, minor enhancements and bug fixes. All users of the 2018-03 release should update to this build. The release notes (link below) provide a complete description of the 2018-03-AD improvements. The most significant changes are: Significant improvements to TUFLOW-AD (advection-dispersion) module. Enhancements to NetCDF outputs to make these accessible as simulation progresses. Enhancements to package model functionality. A range of bug fixes.   3. We are pleased to announce that a major update to the 2018-03 TUFLOW Release (Build 2018-03-AC) is now available. This important update includes support for HPC linking to external 1D schemes, enhancements needed for deployment to the Cloud, and bug fixes. All users of the 2018-03 release should update to this build. The release notes (link below) provide a complete description of the 2018-03-AC improvements. The most significant changes are: Support for linking HPC to three external 1D schemes (12D DDA, FloodModeller, XP-SWMM). Enhancements to support deployment of large numbers of simulations to the Cloud. Enhancements to the package model functionality. Enhanced functionality and bug fixes for soil infiltration. Enhancements and bug fixes to Z-shape Gully Lines, Flow Constriction and Layered Flow Constriction Shapes. HPC timestepping efficiency output. Notably, we’ve cleared the deck of important issues and we are now full steam ahead for the 2019 release, which will include the new HPC Quadtree (variable grid sizes) feature.   4. TUFLOW is pleased to announce that we will be running additional 2018 training days in Sydney and Brisbane in November / December. The training will cover the same content as the days held earlier in the year with a two-day introductory training and a one-day advanced training. These are great sessions for all levels of experience; for new users looking to get a hands-on experience building 2D models, and for existing users looking to enhance existing knowledge and learning the latest tips and tricks. The most significant updates include: Bug fix for virtual pipes models when using a pit search distance of greater than zero. Bug fix for models with variable z shapes. Change to the way HPC models calculate timestep at HQ boundaries. Bug fixes for the "CC" Cell Centred NetCDF Map Output data format.   6. Hi, We have a large model running which takes about 12 days. We are 4 days into two of the runs and my PC detached from the network where we have a network licence for ISIS. The run log says: "Seeking licence for ISIS-TUFLOW-PIPE link...Licence code 4 unobtainable. Dongle read error code 0 Please attach the dongle and hit return." I ensured I was reattached to the network but when I pressed return on one run and the model run just closed. The second is still paused awaiting my input, I'd rather not lose 4 days run time if possible. Is there a way to continue running the model having lost and regained network connection? Thanks, Lucy

  9. Hello, I'm attempting to run a linked Flood Modeller-TUFLOW model, which fails immediately with the following message in the .tlf initialising M2D licence... TUFLOW M2D Module No free LAN licences available. NoXY: ERROR 2100 - Multiple 2D Domains module not available or all licences in use. Cannot use "Start 2D Domain" command. For licensing information, please contact sales@tuflow.com. Wiki Link: http://wiki.tuflow.com/index.php?title=TUFLOW_Message_2100 We do have networked M2D licenses, and it is correct that at the time none were available. However, the set-up of the TUFLOW_Dongle_Settings.dcf file (below) should mean that TUFLOW retries for a license WIBU Retry Time == 20 ! seconds. Values less than 3 are set to 3. Default = 60. WIBU Retry Count == -1 ! Use -1 for indefinitely. WIBU Dongles Only == ON ! If ON, searches for WIBU dongles only. Default is OFF. Would anyone be able to advise on why the model fails, rather than retrying for a license? This seems to have only become an issue since updating to the latest versions of Flood Modeller (4.3) and TUFLOW (2017-09-AC-iSP-w64). Many thanks I-Hsien

Auckland 20th February, 2018 - Modelling Workshop The TUFLOW team are hosting a free lunch and afternoon hydraulic modelling workshop presenting a combination of demonstrations, case studies, technical presentations, and question and answer sessions focusing on common modelling challenges faced by industry. You will have access to hydraulic modelling experts who will share their experiences and approaches to model review, assessment of hydraulic structures, when are 1D and 2D solvers accurate, sub-surface pit and pipe drainage networks, and 2D hydrologic techniques. The afternoon provides an excellent opportunity to network and discuss hydraulic principles with other modellers and environmental specialists working in the flood risk management industry. The session is designed for engineers, scientists, project managers and others either new to hydraulic modelling or those interested in better understanding the tasks involved to prepare and deliver floodplain and coastal hydraulic assessments. Auckland 21st-22nd February, 2018 - Intensive 2 Day Computer-Based Training Whether you are new to TUFLOW or a long-term user, this 2 day training is a great way to develop and enhance your understanding of TUFLOW’s functionality, your capabilities and efficiency as a modeller, and to learn about hydraulic modelling principles. Our training aims to ensure you get the most out of hydraulic modelling. Day 1 covers the TUFLOW basics, including TUFLOW theory followed by practical model creation and review of results. Due to the bug fixes below, all users of Build 2017-09-AA should update to this build. The release notes provide a complete description of the 2017-09-AB improvements. The most significant updates include: Bug fix for HPC scheme that occurred when a 2D cell was allocated more than two SA / RF boundaries. Changes to SX Storage Factor: Bug fix that occurred if more than 1 SX connection occurs on the same 2D cell and the SX connections are in different GIS layers Improved the start-up speed for large models / lots of SX connections. Hi all, The first in a series of demonstration models has been added to the TUFLOW Wiki @ http://wiki.tuflow.com/index.php?title=Main_Page (refer to the "FMA Challenge 1" on the new "Demo Models" tab). The fully functional FMA Challenge 1 (1D-2D linked) provided, will allow you to review the model setup, run and review results improving your skills in: Nested 1D/2D models; Understanding urban riverine conditions and over-bank floodplains; Using the powerful functionality of scenarios and variables to determine a suitable cell size, timestep and log output scenarios; Understanding the influence of structures on open channel hydraulics; Using bc layers with HX, XP, CD and CN types; and Understanding the impact of data quality on DEM development. This Wiki assumes an intermediate to advanced user level and can be supplemented with our existing Wiki Tutorial series. As with our previously provided tutes, the downloads have the option of either running with MIF or SHP file depending on your preference of GIS software.
