TT156: Direct Rainfall and Groundwater

Learn how to apply TUFLOW’s extensive direct rainfall, infiltration and groundwater options to simulate hydrologic rainfall-runoff processes that occur overland and sub-surface

TT156: Direct Rainfall and Groundwater

Overview

Direct rainfall modelling combined with TUFLOW’s Sub-Grid Sampling (SGS) and new groundwater capabilities is a reliable approach to modelling the runoff, infiltration and sub-surface flows from catchments. Benchmarking has demonstrated accuracy commensurate or better than traditional hydrology modelling without the need to have two models, and the benefit of seamlessly transitioning into the hydraulic zone to produce more reliable and detailed flood hazard mapping throughout a catchment.

This advanced online half day hands-on course teaches how to apply TUFLOW’s wide range of direct rainfall, infiltration and groundwater options. The exercises step through the process of applying simple global input parameters, graduating up in complexity to efficient methods to implement detailed spatially and temporally varied inputs.
